Minimizing operational waste

We implement programs and systems designed to increase efficiencies and minimize waste across our site.

In 2024, GCGV achieved Operation Clean Sweep Blue Verification — the most robust tier of the program — ensuring the necessary systems, tools and practices are in place to avoid pellet loss in operations.

OCS Blue Verification requires external inspectors to verify that the 25+ required management practices have been successfully implemented on site to protect the environment and preserve water quality.

"Partnerships between the university and industry are key for us being able to have a clean environment. We can’t just tell one side of the story - it has to be everyone, working together to come up with great solutions. Everybody has a role to play, whether you are a citizen or you work at industry, to help keep our environment clean."
