Gregory-Portland Air Monitoring Program

Monitoring Air Quality

GCGV and Cheniere Energy fund the Gregory-Portland Air Monitoring Program. After nearly five years of continuous air monitoring since 2020, at three locations in Portland and Gregory, data show that air quality standards set by federal and state agencies continue to be met while local industrial sites operate.
Review in-depth analyses of the data
“The Gregory-Portland Air Monitoring Program has four components that make it an innovative air monitoring initiative in the state. First, the air monitoring stations were established and began collecting and reporting air quality data in 2020 — before local industries reached operational capacity — to allow for before and after air quality comparisons. Second, the data is collected, analyzed and reported on by an independent third-party — The University of Texas at Austin. Third, the program has continuously published periodic reports on a public website and distributed them directly to the public in a spirit of transparency. Fourth, the costs of establishing and operating the program have been funded entirely by industry.”
