At full capacity, Peacock Solar:
-
Provides 40% of the site’s total power annually & reduces total greenhouse gas emissions1 by ~ 6%
-
Abates 130 kt of CO2e, offsetting the site’s annual electricity use by an amount equivalent to the energy used by ~17,000 U.S. homes — enough to power a small city for a year2
-
Reduces the site's dependence on the energy grid & improves community power stations
“One year into operations, the Peacock Solar Farm demonstrates our commitment to reducing reliance on the local electrical grid, while supporting responsible, long-term operations at GCGV.“

GCGV has a Greenhouse Gas Roadmap to improve GCGV emissions intensity and energy efficiency.
The 187- megawatt solar farm is home to 600+ sheep, overseen by a shepherd, to maintain the land under the solar panels - a practice known as agrivoltaics.
